The AHAS mission is to facilitate resilience programs, collaboration and research that explore the intersections of health, arts, and spiritual well-being.
Rooted in Hawaiʻi and expanding beyond, we offer trauma-informed consulting, creative evaluation, and professional learning to help communities build systems of care that last.

In Language There Is Life is a one-day professional development institute that explores the power of storytelling to support the well-being of classrooms and communities. Rooted in the ʻōlelo noʻeau I ka ʻōlelo nō ke ola (in language there is life), this gathering honors poetry, oral traditions, and cultural practices as pathways for healing, resilience, and educational excellence.

Wehiwehi: Evaluation Through Art at Shangri La
A culturally responsive evaluation project that used artmaking, creative reflection, and participatory documentation to illuminate learning during the Wehiwehi Intensive directed by Christopher Morgan.
Maui Resilience Events
A series of trauma-informed, arts-based gatherings created in response to the Lahaina fires. These events support post-crisis healing and long-term resilience through storytelling, creative expression, and community connection.
Poetry of Life
An arts education and healing initiative that uses spoken word, story-sharing, and poetry to uplift identity, process trauma, and foster cultural connection in classrooms, community centers, and beyond.
